In this study, we see how Paul confronted false teachers who mixed human traditions, Jewish festivals, philosophy, and ascetic practices with the gospel. Their teachings—rooted in “the doctrines of men”—got the gospel wrong and were “not according to Christ” (Colossians 2:8). What was nailed to the Cross? This week, we’ll see why Colossians 2:16, 17 speaks to the Mosaic ceremonial law that foreshadowed Christ — the true substance of every shadow. Paul reminds us that salvation rests not in rituals, but in a living and growing relationship with Jesus. As we study, we’ll rediscover the freedom and fullness that come only through Christ our Creator and Redeemer.
